Command Post and Operations Directorate
The Command Posts and Operations Directorate is one of the three Directorates of the Service established by Section 17 (b) of the Immigration Service Act, 2016 [Act 908]. It is responsible for the implementation of the core functions and core mandate of the Service. The Directorate’s responsibilities include; to ensure the effective administration and management of migration in the country, and contributing to national security. The Directorate manages the entry and exit points of the country, patrolling the borders of the country, issuing visas, work and residence permits, ensuring compliance with all immigration and related laws, investigating breaches of immigration laws and carrying out removals, developing intelligence for GIS operations and national security, planning and executing special operations, as well as collaborating and cooperating with local and international security and intelligence agencies to combat transnational crime.
The Directorate has the following departments under it: Operations, Permit and Visa Processing, Operational Planning & Research, Enforcement, Migration Management, Intelligence, Border Management, and Counter Terrorism.
