Finance and Administration Directorate
The Finance and Administration Directorate is established by Section 17 (1) (a) of the Immigration Service Act, 2016 [Act 908]. The Directorate is headed by a Deputy Comptroller-General and performs such functions as support services provision, provision and management of resources, and coordination of all programmes and activities of the Administration, Technical Services, Human Resources, Finance, Training, Management Information Systems, and Public Affairs Departments.
The Directorate supervises the optimal allocation of scarce resources to achieve policy objectives of the Service. It manages all staff issues within the Service including recruitment/enlistment, promotions, staff appraisals, transfers & Leave, interdiction and dismissal, retirements and processing of pension and death Gratuity. It also handles issues of public affairs, staff welfare, and oversees the Immigration Service Academy and Training Schools; manages the computer and information systems for the Service; handling incoming and outgoing correspondences, manages and monitors the day to day use of all service’s transports; property and project management, procurement of goods, sanitation, stores, chaplaincy, among others.
